Mels - stuffed dates are baked in cookie Dough

Yield: Make 36.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/3 cup Butter or Crisco softened
- 3/4 cup packed Brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 package (8-ounce) pitted Dates (30)
- 36 walnut halves
Directions
- Sift together flour, baking powder & soda. Set aside.
- In medium bowl cream butter and sugar until light & fluffy.
- Beat in egg & vanilla until blended.
- Stir in flour mixture, alternately with sour cream until blended.
- Stuff dates with walnut halves; using a fork, roll each in dough until well covered.
- Drop 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.
- Bake in pre-heated oven 425° 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- (cookies will be soft to touch) when cooled spread with easy Icing. Make 36.
