GRANDMA’S CORN FLAKES COOKIES:

Yield: Makes 8 dozen cookies.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour;
  • I teaspoon soda;
  • I/2 teaspoon salt;
  • I/2 tea spoon baking powder;
  • I I/4 cup vegetable shortening;
  • I cup white sugar;
  • I cup brown sugar;
  • 2 eggs, wellbeaten;
  • I teaspoon vanilla;
  • 2 cups shredded cocoanut;
  • 2 cups corn flakes;

Directions

  1. Sift flour, soda, salt and baking powder to-gether;
  2. Cream shortening, add the sugars gradually, beat until light. Add eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and creamed mixture. Add cocoanut and corn flakes. Drop by small teaspoonfulls on a greased cookie sheet, I I/2 inches apart. Bake in 350 degree oven 8 to 10 minutes or until delicately brown. Makes 8 dozen cookies.
