Apple Sauce Cake

Ingredients

• 1 3/4 cups cake flour
• 1 Teaspoon soda; 1/2 Teaspoon salt;
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon cloves
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/3 cup shortening
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1 cup unsweetened tart applesauce.
• 1 cup seeded raisins (if you want them)
