CARNATION CHEESEBURGER LOAF
Yield: Makes 4-6 servings.
Ingredients
- ½ cup undiluted Carnation
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cracker crumbs
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon catsup
- 1 cup grated cheese total, divided into two 1/2-cup portions
Directions
- Blend ½ cup undiluted Carnation with 1 egg, 1 cup cracker crumbs, 1½ pounds ground beef, 1½ teaspoons salt, ¼ cup chopped onion, 1 teaspoon dry mustard and 1 tablespoon catsup.
- Line loaf pan with heavy waxed paper and place ½ cup grated cheese on bottom of pan.
- Place half meat loaf mixture over cheese; top with another ½ cup grated cheese.
- Cover with remaining meat.
- Bake in moderate oven (350°F.) about 1 hour.
- Allow to stand 10 minutes before removing from pan.
