Pinwheel Ice Box Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup shortening
• 3 eggs
• 4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon soda
• ½ teaspoon baking powder
• 2 cups dates, ground
• 2 cups nutmeats, ground
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup sugar

Directions

1. Divide the dough and roll out thin, spread on the filling, roll up and place in refrigerator until cold and frim.
2. Slice and bake in 325 degree oven
3. Cook over medium heat until mix. Careful it doesn’t burn. Stir while cooking.
