• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 3/4 cups sifted flour
• 1 teas Vanilla
• 1 1/4 teas salt
• 1/2 teas cinnamon
• 1/2 teas Cloves
• 1/2 cup raisins
• 1/2 cup nutmeats
• 1/2 teas soda, dissolved in
• 1 cup hot applesauce, unsweetened.
