Pin Wheel Ice Box Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup shortening
• 3 eggs
• 4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder;
• 1 cup dates, ground,
• 1 cup nut meats, cut real fine or ground.
• 1/2 cup water,
• 1/2 cup sugar;

Directions

1. Divide the dough and roll thin, spread on the filling, roll up and place in refrigerator until cold and firm.
2. Slice and bake in 325 degree oven.
