Spagetti Sauce For canning or Freezing
Ingredients
- 3 qts Tomatoes - drain fluid from Tomatoes before measuring.
- 1 qt onions, cut small
- 1 Rounded tblsp. salt
- 2 Tablesp Vinegar
- 1 pt green peppers, cut small
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Italian seasonings- or 1 tsp oregano, 1 Teaspoon Basil and garlic salt,
Directions
- Drain fluid from tomatoes before measuring.
- Chop onions and peppers, add seasonings, sugar and vinegar.
- Bring to Boil simmer, 2 or 3 hours.
- Be Careful That it Doesn’t Scorch!
- Put through the food Mill to Strain.
- Then cook down until thick and reduced about 1/3 in Volume.
- Pour into Hot sterile jars and seal, or freeze.

- Bring to Boil; simmer; cook down; Hot sterile jars; hot water Bath

- draining vessel; measuring vessels; knife and cutting board; large cooking pot; stirring utensil; food mill; hot sterile jars and closures or freezer containers; hot-water-bath canner
