Ingredients
- 1 package dry yeast;
- ½ cup luke warm water;
- ½ cup undiluted milk;
- ¼ cup fat; or shortening;
- 3/4 cup sugar;
- 3 eggs;
- 2 teaspoon salt;
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg;
- 5 cups flour (about);
Directions
- Dissolve yeast in the water in a large bowl.
- Melt shortening in small pan, add the milk and he at to lukewarm.
- Add sugar and eggs; beat lightly.
- Add salt and nutmeg,gradually beat in flour to make soft dough;
- Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
- Knead 5 minutes.
- Roll out to ½ inch thickness-and cut with doughnut cutter.
- Let rise until doubled.
- Fry in deep fat 37? degree until brown on both sides About 2 minutes on each side.
