CHOCOLATE PINWHEEL COOKIES:

Yield: makes about 3 dozen cookies;

Ingredients

• I I/2- cups sifted flour;
• I/2 teaspoon baking powder;
• I/4 teaspoon salt;
• I/2 cup butter or other shortening;
• I/2 cup sugar;
• I egg yolk, unbeaten;
• 3 tablespoons milk;
• I square chocolate, melted;

Directions

1. Sift flour, baking powder and salt to-gether Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy; Add egg yolk and beat well. Add milk and blend, add flour mixture and mix well.Divide dough into two parts. to one part add chocolate and blend. Chill. Roll each half into rectangular sheet, I/8 inch thick and place chocolate sheet on top. Roll as for jelly roll, chill over night. cut in I/8 inch slices. Bake on ungreased baking sheet in hot oven, 400-degree for about 5 minutes or until done, makes about 3 dozen cookies;
