Ingredients
- I cup suet, chopped fine, or 2/3 cup butter;
- I cup molasses, (Brer Rabbit, Gold Label);
- I cup sweet milk;
- 3 cups flour;
- 3 level teaspoons baking powder;
- (if butter is used, use only I teaspoon B.P.)
- I½ teaspoon salt;
- ½ teaspoon cloves;
- ½ teaspoon allspice;
- I teaspoon cinnamon;
- I½ cups raisins, chopped and mixed with, 2 tablespoons flour.
Directions
- Cream suet. Add molasses and milk, mixed. Sift to-gether flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Mix and add raisins. Turn into a buttered mold
- OR CUPS. Steam 3 hours, serve hot with whipped cream or raisin pudding sauce.
