- I cup shortening;
- ½ cup sugar;
- ½ cup light-brown sugar;
- 2 eggs;
- I tablespoon orange rind;
- ½ cup blanched shredded almonds;
- 2 3/4 cups sifted flour;
- ½ teaspoon soda;
- I teaspoon salt;
Directions

- Sift to-gether;
- Mix all to-gather, add a little more flour if necessary to make a soft dough, form into a roll and chill, slice and bake at about 375 degree about 10 minutes or until brown.
Timing: about 10 minutes or until brown
