Ingredients
- 1/2 cake yeast
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 C lard
- 1 pint milk scalded + cooled
- 1 [unclear or absent unit] shortening
Directions
- work together
- flour to make stiff batter
- Beat hard + let rise - Knead down + make into rolls - let rise double their size + bake 15 min.
Timing: 15 min.
Equipment: measuring vessels; mixing bowl; mixing or beating utensil; vessel for scalding milk; kneading surface; roll pan or baking sheet; oven
