White Binder handwritten page
Ingredients
- 1 ice box rye loaf
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- Grated Parmesan cheese or garlic salt.
Directions
- 1) With a very sharp knife, cut rye loaf in paper-thin slices
- 2) Place slices in single layer on cookie tins and allow to dry in air or in a 300° oven until crisp and the edges curl.
- 3) Spread half of melted butter over bottom of large baking pan jelly roll tin or dripping pan type. Scatter slices over butter and drizzle rest of butter over the top
- 4) Broil about 5 inches from heat until delicately brown. Stir chips so bottom pieces can brown. Don't let chips get too dark.
- 5) Sprinkle with parmesan cheese while hot, or with garlic salt, depending upon flavor you wish.
Temperature: 300-degree drying option and broiling about 5 inches from heat
Equipment: very sharp knife, cookie tins, large baking pan or jelly-roll or dripping pan, oven, broiler, and stirring utensil
